WHO IS "I AM."?

Who is “I AM.”

In Exodus 3:14–15, when God revealed Himself to Moses, He declared:

“I AM WHO I AM. Say this to the people of Israel: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.”

This powerful moment shows us that God’s name is more than just a title.

  • Eternal Nature — “I AM” reveals God as unchanging, everlasting, and beyond time.

  • Identity — His name shows that who He is will never shift or fade. He simply is faithful, constant, and true.

  • Connection — “I AM” is not only a declaration of who God is, but also an invitation for His people to remember His promises and trust His actions throughout history.

  • Yahweh — Many understand “Yahweh” to be another expression of “I AM” or “I AM WHO I AM,” a name sacred and set apart as God’s memorial forever.

At the heart of it all, “I AM” is about identity, God’s identity as the eternal One, and our identity that flows from Him.
